MREF strategically uses its resources to impact teaching and learning in the district inline with its mission to provide and enhance life-long educational opportunities in the Molalla River School District through grants and scholarships.
Student Grants and Scholarships
MREF 2022 Scholarship Recipients, Allison Wickham. Meya Sandsness, and Reid Sperl with Allison's mom, MREF Board Member Bob Wendling, and Reid's mom. The MREF has awarded over $30,000 in scholarships since 1997.
Donna Wendling Memorial Scholarship
The MREF is pleased to be able to offer this $2000 annual scholarship in honor of Donna (Senora) Wendling, who taught Spanish at Molalla High from l979 until she retired in 2000. Many teachers, friends and former students have contributed to fund this scholarship in her honor. One of Senora’s greatest passions was to help students learn new skills and discover the joy of learning. |
MREF Scholarship
The purpose of the annual MREF scholarship is to recognize and provide financial assistance to a student pursuing an education in any degree program of study, at any university, four-year college, community college, technical or trade school. |
Phyllis Parker Memorial Scholarship
In 2016 the MREF board agreed to oversee a new college scholarship in honor of Phyllis who was a business teacher at MHS. The scholarship will be open to seniors pursuing a career in business/technology and/or education. Maple Grove Grants
Maple Grove Parents' Club elected to use eScrip money to benefit former Maple Grove students. Any student through 12th grade that attended Maple Grove before it closed in 2010 may apply for funds up to $200 a year for educational purposes. There is a lifetime cap of $300. Maple Grove Scholarship
