MREF Grants and Scholarships
MREF strategically uses its resources to impact teaching and learning in the district inline with its mission to provide and enhance life-long educational opportunities in the Molalla River School District through grants and scholarships.
SLIDES: (1-5) Students demonstrate their mastery of the bow fire-starting kits that Joe Zenisek purchased for his science class through funds provided by an MREF mini-grant; (6-8) Student in Mata Kimmels 5th grade class at RPA culminate their Civil War Studies with a Civil War Reenactors funded by an MREF mini-grant; (9-10) Rory Murtaugh, the Latin teacher at RPA, added a guitar music class to the curriculum thanks to an MREF mini-grant.
Teacher Grants and Gifts
During the 2017-2018 district inservice day the MREF held six drawings for $100 bills - one for each building in the district. Here MHS recipient Kurt Van Deren shows off his prize with MREF Board member Dr. Joe Zenisek.

In 2023 the MREF distributed $2000 Grants each to the middle school and high school to fund projects:

Previous Teacher Mini-Grants
MREF distributed minigrants to teachers in 2019 totaling $3657
MREF distributed 6 minigrants to teachers in 2016 totaling $2488. MREF distributed 6 minigrants to teachers in 2015 totaling $2857. 2008 - MREF gave every teacher in the district a $50 gift card for a total of $7,700. That was the single largest donation MREF has given. |
